In old buildings, it is necessary to dry damp foundation walls, which is carried out by different methods. The most commonly used methods of installing new waterproofing in an existing building:
• Sectional undercutting of the wall – Method, in which fragments of the wall located directly above the old horizontal insulation are forged in sections, remove the old insulation and apply a new one. The method of undercutting the wall requires a lot of work and considerable costs.
• Creating diaphragms in the wall – Horizontal waterproofing is obtained by injecting a special hydrophobic liquid into the drilled holes (based on silicon compounds or silicone microemulsion), which soaks into the wall and forms a horizontal diaphragm in the wall.
• Vertical insulation is recommended to be made of vapor-permeable insulation, mineral waterproofing mortar, which is complemented by a membrane with embossing that allows the wall to dry out.
